Boston Day 1 Recap

Boston Day 1 Recap

After a Monday filled with travel, yesterday was our first full day in Boston, and it was filled with some awesome experiences. Heres a recap of our packed day!

The day started with Rob an I heading out to Drift's HYPERGROWTH 2018. It was a beautiful day for the outdoor event, held at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion. It was an awesome event that had some amazing speakers.

Lola Travel CEO Mike Volpe was one of our favorite speakers. He discussed how to take what he learned serving as a CMO and apply it to his new role of CEO. As a marketing guy myself, it was really cool to see how he used his marketing experience in his new position.

Another speaker we had the opportunity to hear was George Forman III. His talk was about 'Unleashing the fighter in all of us'. His talk was extremely motivational, and had many points that you could take away from it. He discussed how everyone has 'opponents' which could be deadlines, stress or fear, and that instead of coping with them, he said we need to fight them head on. I thought this was a cool way to phrase it, and is something I will definitely take away from this event.

Finally, Drift's CEO David Cancel took the stage to discuss some updates that their platform was undergoing. He stressed the word 'Now' and introduced the concept of conversational marketing. David also announced multiple strategic business decisions that Drift had recently completed, they partnered with multiple platforms like Marketo, DemandBase and Outreach. It was awesome to hear from David, and the game-changing moves that Drift has made recently.

Overall, HYPERGROWTH 2018 was a great experience, thanks again to Drift for having us. Both Rob and I learned a lot from the experience and we cannot wait to apply what we learned to our company.

For the second half of the day, the whole team traveled to HubSpot's INBOUND 2018. Yesterday was the INBOUND Welcome Party and the first keynote of the event by Deepak Chopra. If the whole INBOUND event is even partially like the welcome party, we are in for a great week! We were able to reach out to so many awesome people and make a lot of great connections, we can't wait to see what the rest of the week holds!

Overall, we had an great first day in Boston and we are excited to really dive into INBOUND for the rest of the week.
